From the hot bread and the fresh salad they bring, the spinach soup, the veal Parmesan with Alfredo sauce, and the chocolate mousse at the end. I've always been in love with this place. So sad to hear it's closed. It was the best of the best authentic Italian. Will be missed View all feedback.
What Tony T doesn't like about Nunzio's:
I HATE to rate a 3 because the food is pretty good HOWEVER...Service (as in many other places) has gone down-hill since our last visit!!! Usually I see these reviews and I think Oh well, it was bad service for them but I 'll go anyway hoping I get better service...Well...GOOD LUCK!!!! Waited 30 minutes to sit down, 20 minutes to get water and another 20 to be ASKED if we were ready to order!!! SUPER NICE WAITRESS but... View all feedback.
So sad to see this place go, its one of the best family owned Italian restaurants out there!
I started dining at Nunzio's in 1976 when they were located on SW 97 Ave and Coral Way. I continued to visit them at their SW 40 St and 114 Ave location until their final day, which was yesterday, 03/25/2022. My heart aches knowing I can no longer celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, or retirements at Nunzio's. I will always remember Gilda Nunzio and the family: two wonderful, loving parents and their three sons who worked tirelessly and selflessly to ensure the restaurant’s success. And succeed they did. Unfortunately for us, but happily for Roberto, the owner, he has decided to retire and close the restaurant. After the passing of his parents, he made a promise to continue the family business, and that promise has been fulfilled. Now, it's time for him to relax and enjoy life. You have a beautiful family, Roberto! We love you, Biagio, and the rest of the family, and we wish you all the best in the future. God bless you all today and always. XOXOXOXO Forever more.
What can I say? My wife and I have been visiting Nunzio's since 1974. They started off in a tiny spot at 97th Ave and Coral Way. It was a quaint little hole in the wall, complete with red and white checkered tablecloths, and the lines on Fridays were always long. I feel a bit sad to hear that the restaurant is closing its doors, as I know there will never be another place quite like it. However, I understand it’s for the best, and I wish the owner all the best in the future. I will definitely miss it, especially the red sauce – there's nothing like it.
I just found out that my favorite restaurant in the world is closing. There's not much to say other than "thank you for the memories"—actually, great memories that my family and I have cherished for generations. We wish you all the best for the future. Mangia!
From the warm bread and fresh salad to the spinach soup, veal Parmesan with Alfredo sauce, and the chocolate mousse for dessert, I've always adored this restaurant. It’s heartbreaking to hear it’s closed. It was truly the best of the best in authentic Italian cuisine. It will be greatly missed.
