Mekong Chinese - Miami

While visiting Miami, I happened upon this restaurant while craving Chinese food. Based on the name, I thought I might find some Vietnamese dishes or influences, but to my surprise, it offered authentic Americanized Chinese cuisine. I ordered fried rice, shrimp with broccoli, cashew chicken, and beef lo mein. The portions were generous, and everything tasted fresh—especially the shrimp, which were deliciously tender, and the broccoli, which was crisp and vibrant. The sliced beef in the lo mein was tender, and the noodles were cooked perfectly to my liking. As a Taiwanese person living in Southern California, I found this to be a delightful surprise. So far, it’s the best Chinese food I’ve had in Miami, and the prices are very reasonable. The dishes aren't overly greasy, salty, or starchy; however, I would personally prefer a bit less salt. Overall, I'm very pleased with Mekong II and will definitely return.

We ordered lo mein, fan tail shrimp, and fried rice. Everything was fresh and delicious! We will definitely be ordering from here again.

I ordered three dishes: a small wonton soup, a small special fried rice, and boneless BBQ ribs. My order was ready in just 10 minutes, which I took back to my office to enjoy. Since the dining setup is on your own, they provide foam plates, standard plastic utensils, as well as the usual condiments, fortune cookies, and fried wontons. Don’t forget to ask for the hot oil or pepper oil; it's incredibly delicious! I also ended up with plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day.

This place…. Is so worth coming to. Honestly, the best Chinese food in the area, their quality of food is amazing, especially if you have to order the trays for big parties. Their food is always on point, not a greasy fried rice, 100% recommend this place.

No place Is perfect everytime you order but with that being said... this is definitely one of the most consistent takeout spots in Miami especially for great Chinese food! Food quality and customer service are great there too so the few bad comments I read are clearly people with a personal problem...
