Bakan is an authentic Mexican restaurant in the Wynwood district. It has a lovely covered outdoor area, and very nice decor. Someone recommended it because of the los insectos on the menu, which I didn’t get, but they are also known for their homemade blue corn tortillas and wood fired meats. Our server Denzel was awesome. Food is terrible. Gave me and my whole family food poisoning. And the worst part is they are one of those restaurants that do not want to pay their employees but would rather charge an automatic 20% service fee instead giving customers no chance to actually give a tip based on actual service. First time in, being that I work in a upscale somewhat casual place I am very conscious of service. No major complaints but definitely nothing special. Cool looking spot
THE ONLY THING WORTH EATING WAS THE GUAC AND THATS USUALLY GOOD ANYWHERE. DRINKS WERENT GOOD AND WE ORDERED A BUNCH OF THEM AND THE FOOD DIDNT TASTE LIKE ANYTHING. I DO NOT RECOMMEND AND WE WIL NOT BE BACK
I love this restaurant and will continue to come because they have great food, drinks and ambiance. The reason why I didn’t give them stars is because after I made the reservation, I called the restaurant and asked them to make sure I get an outdoor table and told them we were celebrating a birthday. When we got there they didn’t have outdoor table available which honestly shows a lack of attention to detail and not so great customer service. During Covid times please don’t make promises you can’t keep, for me this was extremely important and such a bummer
