Mayor's Cafe Miami Lakes

Very good neighborhood diner. Partly owned by the Miami Lakes mayor, who actually works there on weekends. Good breakfast and lunch menu. Loved the grits and the 2 stacker pancakes order.

Good food yet just par service. First off, physically go to the Cafe and don't order food. They regularly forget to add items unless you're there to check your order. Second, they are always swamped and are understaffed. However, they do make goodquality food and are very friendly. They are the only type of Cafe in the area of Miami Lakes. I feel they just need to step upon thier other services. Only a three star rating from me.

Delaney was my waitress, and I want to highlight that first because what's a great restaurant without good service? I ordered the avocado bagel on an everything bagel, and it was delicious! I also had the café con leche, which was fantastic, and for my grand finale, I enjoyed the French toast—it's truly outstanding! I will definitely be back! Delaney was kind, attentive, and quick—everything you want in a waitress. Great job, Mayor's Cafe!

What a charming spot! The mayor skillet breakfast was delicious and fairly priced. I would definitely return.

Unfortunately, the server ignored us several times while I repeatedly asked for the menu. I watched as another couple was seated at a larger table and greeted right away, receiving their menus immediately. Then a different couple was seated at another large table, also welcomed and handed their menus without delay. Meanwhile, I continued to plead for a menu, but we were completely overlooked. Frustrated by the lack of service, we eventually decided to leave. I won't be returning here. Instead, we went to Einstein Bagels nearby, where we were served promptly.
