The food, drinks, and service were incredible. The place was much smaller than I anticipated, but I still had a wonderful experience. What User doesn't like about Umi Sushi Sake:
I initially felt disappointed by the limited selection at the grill restaurant, but my mood quickly shifted once we started our meal. We ordered agedashi tofu, grilled beef short ribs, scallops wrapped in speck, pork ribs, amaebi (sweet shrimp), aoebi (blue shrimp), a hamachi lime roll, and a pink dame roll. Our server was very friendly, but the food and wine were disappointing. We started with the miso soup, which had a off-putting fishy taste. Next, we tried the tempura roll, which was supposed to feature spicy rock shrimp but ended up being quite bland. We also ordered the tuna roll, but neither of us enjoyed it. Overall, the food lacked flavor and it was not a pleasant experience. On a positive note, the hotel and restaurants are beautifully designed.
The sushi was fresh, but there weren't enough options. My husband and I love sushi, and I felt like we left the restaurant still hungry.
The food is excellent, but our meal took 2.5 hours to complete. It seems like the restaurant may struggle during busy times, as even the family sitting next to us was so frustrated that they went to the front desk to complain. Our server was very nice and apologetic, but waiting that long for edamame, miso soup, and two rolls is just unacceptable.
I loved everything I ordered. It was beyond delicious, fresh and the presentation was beautiful. I ordered off of their tasting menu type optionedamame, ceviche, dragon roll and mochi for dessert. We also shared a crab roll. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The ambiance is also spectacular.
I recently visited UMI and was beyond happy with my experience. I did their Miami Spice menu (like a restaurant week type thing for those not from this area) which was one of the best I’ve seen. Food was DELICIOUS, but also really enjoyed our server, Kelly. She was upbeat, attentive, fun to talk to, and very passionate about the restaurant and menu! Couldn’t have given better recommendations. Will certainly be back to visit!
