An interesting restaurant with a unique atmosphere and some unusual, but attractive decor, Tantra lives up to its reputation as an exceptional establishment. The prawn and scallop appetizer proved to be delicious; the lamb shank was tender and perfectly prepared; and fellow diners reported the curried seafood and salmon dishes to be just as delightful. What DiningGuide Reader doesn't like about Tantra:
This is a nicely decorated place, but extremely, extremely expensive. The dining area is tiny, there are only two stalls in the bathrooms for women so imagine the lines. The food is good but not to die for. It is just unbelievably expensive. Our table was only of 6 people and the bill was almost $1,000. We didn't even order a bottle just about 2 drinks per person for the night. It was ridiculous. Never stepping foot... View all feedback.

Having just arrived from New York, my friends and I were looking for a restaurant with good food and great ambiance, a friend recommended Tantra restaurant. As we arrived we were greeted warmly by the hostess and lead through the restaurant on a carpet of grass! We took the recommendation of the waitress and ordered the Chilean sea bass and the lobster with truffle risotto. The meal was delicious and the service warm and professional. After dinner we relaxed on the lounge chairs outside with the Tantra signature martini Tantric Kiss and smoked a hookah pipe. Overall the evening was a success. A must see. I 'll definitely be back!
The first few times I came to Tantra, it always seemed like a new experience. The first time was an intimate romantic dinner, and then I discovered the crazy Monday night with some friends, with a live drummer every single Monday. The food was amazing both times. The lobster napoleon and the scallops are definitely my favorites. The lobster is fresh and a mix of sweet and salty with the mango and avocado layers. I never liked scallops or celery but there must be something magical about the way these scallops are seasoned and seared, because now I love scallops. The decoration is very authentic and makes you feel in another country, definitely not your typical American restaurant. It seems like there is always a new piece of art added to this beautiful restaurant. Highly recommend it for both food and ambiance.
This place is absolutely horrible. The food was not well cooked. What the waiter brought me was not what I had ordered. Do not go there way over priced for what it is.
Our waiter and bus person were attentive, yet reserved. They did fine jobs helping us make our meal selections. The ambience was different. It felt like an aged attempt to create the tropics with faux greenery; however, the food was fantastic! My all-vegetarian dish was light yet danced on my taste buds leaving a marvelous food memory (which is a tough thing to achieve). My mates spoke highly of their meat and fish dishes. We chose to top off the meal by sharing a chocolate mousse topped with an orchid. I didn't think that my main dish could be bettered, but the dessert did the job. It melted in my mouth and felt exotic while totally reminding me of being in mom's kitchen as a child enjoying her freshly baked goods warm from the oven. The price was a little high, but the experience was well worth.
