Merci nenette ;-) View all feedback.
Very fresh, seasonal specialties and the best sandwiches!!! Fanny makes the best sandwiches in Burgundy! Great selection of cheese, cutlery, fruit, vegetables and other specialties such as wines, beers, cakes, dairies. I like the concept very much: it reminds me of a modern Swiss style...‘Tante Emma Laden’, i.e. a small shop where you can buy anything you need for living. Even for seafood, Fanny would send out SMS to take your reservation. I ordered many cutlery and cheese platters for cocktail evenings with friends, stopped by to buy sandwiches, lemonades and bottles of wines for picknicks and bike tours etc. Her selection sweets, chees, cutlery, ice creams, beers and other specialties is amazing. Fanny is very nice and after three visits, she had already known what we like and what to prepare for us.
And so did we. This shop is small but stocks a decent variety of foodstuffs. There was deli fare and there was also a modest amount of produce. Everything was fresh and tasty, with special appeal to those who had rented houses and apartments in...Meursault. I am done. The end.
We came across this wonderful eating experience inadvertently while seeking advice at a local food store on where to go for dinner? The store proprietor confidently told me I have the best table in Meursault but you can't eat here tonight if you want...to eat here you must book! It transpired that he only cooked on a Tuesday Friday (choosing what he would cook/serve that night from the best food available at the Market). We booked for the next night and were told we must arrive at It was a beautiful warm night. Just we and another table of We all chose to eat in the private courtyard beside the dining room /kitchen. For the entree we selected from a generous array of delectable plates of cured meats, anchovies, sardines, salads, cheeses fabulous eggs with a superb mayonnaise fish roe. Then a series of individual plates were served..I particularly remember a plump pan fried scallop on a medallion of potato and spinach and the chicken casoulet. Desert was a perfectly cooked banana and home-made vanilla ice-cream. The local wine was wonderful (a chablis Euro after the entree we decided the meal deserved a better wine chose a local pinot We felt like dinner guests at Valerie's home as he prepared the food, served it, sat for a while with the locals' at the next table (enjoying our experience of his cooking before returning to the kitchen. During the first course we decided that I must have misunderstood the menu price. A lovely location, wonderful food wine and the cost? Euro each plus wine!!!
We stopped here for a delicious lunch. There was a hotel further up the road that we had considered but so glad we plumped for La petite vadrouille. Superb vegetable terrine starter followed by a stunning fish main course. My partner had chicken which came...with a delicious tomato sauce and paprika potatoes. Great local Mersault wine as one would expect! Very friendly service. Overall a great experience.
Great location which I guess justifies the very high prices, but even the location doesn't justify the rude service. We won't be coming back
