Rube's - Metropolis

Amazing food and professional staff. Very fast at dinner. Our waitress was wonderful.

We’re from out of town and were a bit leery when we pulled up. There were ZERO cars in the lot. Never a good sign… We were seated by a very friendly waitress that made us feel right at home, she took our order and we watched as the open sign was turned off. I asked our waitress if they were closing and she said “yes, we close at noon on Saturdays.” See, we had walked in at 11:57 and I felt horrible. Despite having been ready to clean up and leave they served us one of the best breakfasts I’ve had since my Gma use to make them for me. Great place, great food and an absolutely amazing staff.

We went to breakfast and I ask for coffee with flavored creamers they said no, but the waitress was so beautiful she said she will find something. She did French vanilla so she was wonderful. Breakfast was good. You mites want to add a little more decorations on the walls and puppy it up, but it was good I would go back. Maybe some donuts or muffins under a glass of cake plate, so people have mites of coffee and a role.

My Hubby and I (and two sweet little pups) stayed in Metropolis on the way to Florida. We were in the most beautiful Super 8 and needed a hearty breakfast. We decided to eat at Rubes and we were impressed with mine! First, it is the only one in the city without Superman references. Obviously a favourite for locals, there was excellent service, fast food and a beautiful ambience. Very recommended for everyone!

Great home cooking without having to cook! Call ahead to ask what their specialties are. I like her fried chicken, okra, thunderblitzsalat. At some point, I do it for her popular breakfast, which starts at 5:30, but it must be great because they are overcrowded early in the morning!
