Walking down the street, a poster of cannoli attracted us to Astoria. We ordered the one with ricotta cream filling. Not knowing what to expect, we were presented with a beautiful puff pastry roll stuffed with ricotta cream and sprinkled with pistachio bits. One bite and we were taken to heaven. I ate a gianduia ice cream and it’s awesome and there are so many mini ice creams that tastes good
During our visit, we were served delicious food and great service. The cappuccino tasted well and the ice cream was phenomenal. I wasn’t expecting much from the ice cream, but once I took a bit into it, it was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. We also ordered some mini ice creams, which my family loved. To wrap it up, the owner was very kind and served us chocolate which was appetizing. If my family and I visit Italy again, we would definitely come back. This restaurant is very well recommended.
We got the train to Messina for the day expecting a little more than we got, but we found this great place which definitely made the day better. Initially going just for the gelato, 1 pistachio lemon filled brioche and 1 hazelnut chocolate filled tub. The menu simply states cocktail with €6 €10 next to it, so I asked for a cocktail menu from the extremely helpful staff. Unfortunately, the language barrier meant I wasn 't fully understood, but the waitress must have caught some of my Northern accent and brought over a Martini menu, which was full of the cocktails they could offer. Some were unavailable, but we both settled on the same one and ordered. A few minutes later, the drinks were delivered, and crikey they were strong. The menu stated 27% volume, but it was pushing 40% I 'd say. A lovely drink, one we definitely took our time on. Helpful staff and reasonable prices, would very much recommend this to anybody in Messina for an aperitivo.

They also have a lot of other desserts that looked very appetizing but we were quite full after finishing the cannoli. Definitely recommended cannoli spot in Messina. PS They also serve complimentary drinking water which is definitely a plus.
Good products: ice cream is wonderful and the cofee too. The problem is the service: they refused to give us the wifi password and didn't have change
