We were on a multi-day nine-pass tour this time and over the past 20-something years have been to some of the best known passes multiple times (Furka, Grimsel,... read more We were on a multi-day nine-pass tour this time and over the past 20-something years have been to some of the best known passes multiple times (Furka, Grimsel, Susten, Gotthard, San Bernardino, etc. by automobile and by postal bus. This old restaurant has some charming retro furnishings on the upper level and it wasn't the first time I've been here. We want to believe somehow we came here at the worst possible moment when the upstairs waitress was having a bad day. That's what we'd like to believe. Because this woman can't count change to save her life, and then she pretended to be terribly upset when we politely asked that she actually give the correct change. If you read my reviews you'll note that I do tip literally everywhere even despite absurdly high prices. (Note to customers: when rum costs only 40 centimes more than espresso then go for the rum. But when there is an expectation that there is no need to return correct change because I should just give it to you anyhow then we have a problem. Hopefully the lady isn't in such a horrible mood every day, slamming around the dishes and cups and cursing as she was on this afternoon. On the other hand, I hadn't seen such a dramatic performance like this in Ticino for about 20 years ... so there is that. Also as the dining room was full of flies this made the dramatic performance all the more retro-realistic.

I wanted to use toilet and then drink and I guess owners, Chinese woman wanted me to pay first. as I had only card, I told her I also want to buy something in the...bar and also some gifts. she clearly did not understand me and repeated that she will not accept a card for 1 frank. she didn't let me go to the toilet and when I left, she told me, go to hell. how please? a little polite would be nice and if they don't know how to be polite for the customers, then choose different job! ciao

I ordered a tomato salad and an salami. I have tomato and a small salami with a knife on a piece of wood, and it cost a little fortune. Of course, the environment is amazing, but this is despite the bad experience of this restaurant.
