What David Marin dislikes about Double Eagle:
**Meal Type:** Lunch **Price per Person:** $10–20 **Food Rating:** 2/5 **Service Rating:** 4/5 **Atmosphere Rating:** 1/5 I recently visited this restaurant for lunch and had mixed feelings about my experience. On the positive side, the service was quite commendable. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring that we felt taken care of throughout our meal. However, the food left much to be desired. I found the quality lacking, and it didn't meet my expectations. As for the atmosphere, it was quite disappointing. The environment was uninviting and made for an uncomfortable dining experience. Overall, while the service was good, the food and atmosphere detracted significantly from my overall enjoyment.

Fantastic atmosphere and the food is outstanding! Parking can be found along the sides of the streets in Old Town Mesilla, with plenty of options within walking distance, all offering spectacular views of the historic downtown. Kid-friendly: Absolutely! Children are always welcome to enjoy the charm of this historic town. Wheelchair accessibility: Very accommodating.

Absolutely beautiful setting, delicious food, and excellent service! Gabe, our server, was fantastic and shared plenty of interesting local history with us. It’s a perfect spot for a special occasion or if you're just craving an outstanding steak.

Do you enjoy historical buildings? Fascinating haunted stories? A striking aesthetic? This is the perfect spot to stop and take it all in. I really loved the decor and ambiance, which has a unique blend of Victorian and Southwestern influences. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the food and drinks. The salsa was quite tasty, featuring a smoky, fruity flavor, but it leaned towards the milder side. The queso was rich and cheesy, but the salmon was a bit dry, even though the glaze added a nice touch. The coconut flan had a grainy texture, though the flavor was delightful. The drinks showed promise but were somewhat watery. I didn’t encounter any ghosts, but the bar had plenty of good spirits!

We couldn't stop staring at the decor in here, it's beautiful. We were there to set up a baby shower. The atmosphere is so elegant. We loved it. Great people too.

Made a brief visit. Had the fried guacamole and a drink. The atmosphere was very nice, and the service excellent.

Nestled in a stunning setting, this restaurant offers a vibrant atmosphere complemented by beautiful decor. Patrons praise the service and ambiance but express disappointment with the food quality, which appears inconsistent. While some diners rave about outstanding dishes, others report overcooked, cold, and bland offerings that don't live up to previous visits. Despite a few standout meals, many suggest a decline in culinary standards. While drinks and desserts may be worth a try, guests emphasize the need for improvement to match the venue's aesthetic appeal. This place could be a hidden gem, provided it addresses these culinary shortcomings.

The history of Las Cruces is truly fascinating, and our server, Naomi, was fantastic. She shared the restaurant's history with us, including a tragic event that occurred in the dining area where we were seated. Fortunately, the ghost didn't make an appearance while I savored my delicious steak, so I was able to fully enjoy my meal. I ordered a juicy, tender filet mignon, which literally melted in my mouth. Despite the eerie stories associated with the place, I completely forgot about that while indulging in my meal. The past may be tragic, but I hope those two young souls find peace. I highly recommend this restaurant; the dining experience was exceptional, and the service was outstanding. Thank you, Naomi, for providing such a memorable culinary experience! If you find yourself in New Mexico, be sure to visit Double Eagle and ask for Naomi. She knows the restaurant’s history and is eager to share its stories with you and your family. There are also several wonderful shops nearby worth exploring. Overall, a visit is definitely worth it!

We ate here on 10/14/2023 for a date night. Food was great, prices weren 't too bad for the quality of food. We actually didn 't have reservations, but they were able to accommodate us within 30 mins. The reasoning I gave this restaurant 3 starts is management. So I put my tip in for the waiter on the receipt, not sure if he intentionally or unintentionally added an extra $10.00. Could have been an honest mistake, so I called the restaurant and was told i needed to speak with the manager Sarah. They sent me to her voicemail. Left message. I have called 4 times since I visit, left to voicemails and spoke with 2 hosts they took down my information and put it on her desk. Guess, what almost a month in still and no response from Sarah . This makes your business look bad. Until I hear from management, I will not be back to your restaurant.

I stopped by the bar at the Double Eagle and had a fantastic experience! The house Margaritas and Martinis were top-notch. The bartender was not only professional but also very friendly. Everyone around was engaged in lively conversations, creating a great atmosphere.

My waiter was incredibly kind and professional. The mashed potatoes were outstanding—absolutely delicious! Both the food and drinks were remarkable and definitely worth sharing with others. I’ll have to stop by again whenever I’m in the area.

Our server, Naomi, was exceptional. She shared the restaurant's rich history, including a tragic event that took place in the dining area where we were seated. Luckily, the ghost didn’t make an appearance during my meal, allowing me to fully enjoy my delicious steak. I can handle a haunting as long as it doesn’t interfere with my juicy, tender filet mignon! The steak was so good that I completely forgot about the ghostly legends. The experience was further enhanced by Naomi's wonderful service. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant; the dining experience was excellent and the service was top-notch. Thank you, Naomi, for making our dinner memorable. If you find yourself in New Mexico, definitely stop by and ask for Naomi. She is knowledgeable about the restaurant's history and is eager to share its stories with you and your family. There are also several great shops in the vicinity of the Double Eagle, making it a perfect stop for you and your loved ones.
