We went with our friends, the martins. We enjoyed the experience. The food was good. It was super busy which means that people like going there. The wait staff was friendly. Everything came on out on time and it's just good restaurant. We would certainly go back with or without the martins. View all feedback.
What Donna S doesn't like about Sunland Village:
Arrived before 4 pm, waited half an hour to be seated. We ordered when drinks were ordered; took an hour and a half for our food to arrive! Two and a half hours for a fish meal is TOO LONG! Fish was very generous, one piece would have been enough because each piece was 5-6 inches long. Frys were very good. Waitress was very friendly but the pitcher of beer was not cold. Great place for a quick bite, or drink! Sandy is amazing! Everything I have tried there has been good! From the service, to the food to the prices!
I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this restaurant. We were a group of eight over the age of 60, and the service was impeccable. The food was both plentiful and delicious. Since we arrived at 11 am, we could only order from the breakfast menu, but we’re planning to come back at noon next time to try the taco salad! Thank you for a fantastic morning. - Tinkerbell
We attended the Friday night fish fry for, what appeared to be, mostly retired Midwesterners. The fish was great. The portions are generous and the price was reasonable. No complaints on the food. There's a one piece, two piece and All You Can Eat (three pieces) price for the dinner. I doubt most people could get through all three pieces. Of course, if they do they can get another. The service was great. Manon was our waitress. She did a fine job considering how busy the place is on a Friday night. The clam chowder came out almost immediately. The drinks were refilled quickly. No complaints on service. The price was great too. Dinner for four with a beer each for $86 is a bargain in today's world. The ambiance was meh. There really wasn't any. The room is drab . The paint is old. The walls are kinda ugly. If that's the look they're going for, they nailed it. Maybe that's what fish fry bars look like back in Wisconsin and Minnesota. I have no idea. Considering the number of people dining there, I would expect better. Deduct a star for ambiance. If you crave a Friday fish fry and a cold beer in the middle of the desert, you're covered at Rochester's.
The restaurant has a charming, cozy vibe. Our waitress was delightful and took the time to walk us through the menu and the specials. I highly recommend the Sweet Potato Fries and the Classic Reuben; the portions were just right and didn’t leave us feeling weighed down. Diann enjoyed her meal as well, and I really have no complaints. If you have room for dessert, you absolutely must try their Brownie Ice Cream Sandwich—it's dangerously good! I appreciate their straightforward and unpretentious menu, and it certainly did not disappoint. The prices are very reasonable too. With fantastic service, great food, and appealing decor, this place is a winner all around. This is the team from Christopher Metcalfe Creations (480-815-4502). Great service. One of the few bars where an old fart like me is not ignored by the wait staff or bar tenders.. I give it 5 stars!
