This restaurant is in a fantastic waterfront location. The interior design is top-notch and the service is quick and efficient. The staff is kind and the chimichangas are outstanding. The portions are generous and satisfying, and the chips and salsa are tasty. Be sure to note their unique offerings, as the prices are very reasonable. View all feedback.
What Lisa G doesn't like about Macayo's Mexican Food:
The Mexican food at this restaurant is average. I ordered a bean tostada and cheese enchilada which were decent. The side of calabacitas I chose lacked flavor and seasoning. The chips... View all feedback.
I hadn't been to this restaurant in years, so I was excited to go back. I arrived for lunch at 11:45am and found that there were only a few other customers. The food was delicious, and the service was good once the server finally came to my table. I had to wait for about 10 minutes before someone came to take my order, which was frustrating since I was in a hurry. However, once I ordered, the food was promptly served. Overall, I recommend stopping by this restaurant as you will also enjoy it!
I visited this restaurant on Sunday and was shocked by how quickly the quality went down. The place was empty and I saw three staff members sitting at the front. They told us it would be a 15-20 minute wait for a table, or we could sit in the bar area. With three children in tow, we would have preferred a regular table, but decided to go upstairs to avoid the wait. From the top, we could see that only one table was occupied downstairs and the others were clean and empty.
The location definitely matters! We visited a Macayo's restaurant on the west side of the city and had a great experience! Since this location is closer to our home, we were eager to give it a try. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The service was decent, but the food was not up to par. The chips at the other location were warm and tasty, but the chips here were cold and seemed old. We will continue our search for a Mexican restaurant on the east side.
The spinach chicken was a bit dry and charred, and I wish the sauce was a bit more watery. It was too thick and dry. The chimichurri sauce on the meat was also dry. However, the service was great, and the atmosphere was wonderful.
We love this location at Dobson and Baseline! The customer service is always excellent and the food is delicious. We hope the new one opening in Queen Creek will be just as good!
