My wife and I decided we wanted to have mariscos for an early dinner/late lunch (3PM). We were greeted and seated immediately. Drink orders were prompt. Food was served exceptionally quick. Our server continuously checked on us frequently. Food was very delicious. This was our first time trying El Rey, but definitely not our last. I would recommend this to anyone who likes Mexican prepared seafood or wanting to try i... View all feedback.
What Emma Gonzalez doesn't like about El Rey Mexican Kitchen:
I was here at 8am to pick up an order that was placed ahead of time as well as charged , it’s 9am and they’re still closed. Various other customers outside have left upset . It was a phone order and when I call back it rings busy….So much for a breakfast place that claims to open at 7am .Update 9:20am I got my food almost $30, for the below …. Ok View all feedback.
I love it! Very beautiful created, the food is really good, I had brunch and lunch a couple of times and it’s always on point. The service is great, the manager went to our table to ask how was everything, we appreciate the extra effort. If you are looking to a new brunch restaurant go check it out! You won’t be disappointed ? Thank you!
GREAT place!!! Stopped in on a visit from Texas and found this amazing place. Don’t let the outside of the building fool you, it’s beautiful inside and the food is absolutely wonderfulGreat flavors, authentic ingredients and prepared with skill! Can’t believe how lucky we got by stopping by.Michelada was perfect, peach mimosa too…I had the huevos ranchero with asada, great! My wife had the buttermilk pancakes with brûlée bananas and pecans, off the chart great, you won’t need butter or syrup, but they send it anyway! Highly recommended this spot, we talked with Adrian, chef, owner, not sure, but he’s a solid guy and has a great place to be proud of. The service was spot on as well, always there for you and super nice. Can’t wait to go back before we leave and get one of the 10 or 12 different ceviche’s and will have to try the octopus as well! Mesa has a gem of a spot, Viva El Rey!!!

We live nearby and watched as businesses fell victim to the pandemic. This restaurant continued to have a strong following, so we came and tried it and loved it.I had the fajitas and they were fantastic. My wife had the molcajete and I had to try her grilled nopalitos, which were the best I’ve had.Staff was attentive and helpful. Don’t sleep on this place. The whole corner is getting a facelift, but this place was clean inside, recently remodeled, well lit, and had a great menu with seafood and other options.
Small little spot that you may not notice at first because the outside of the building might not be eye catching but remember to never judge a book by its cover. Inside it is fresh and remodeled. The staff is friendly always making sure you are enjoying your meal. The food is delicious. The Molcajete de Mar y Tierra was great and a good portion. Having grown up on Mexican food I find it hard to find a Mexican food restaurant that is ever want to visit more than once but this is definitely the place. Definitely a place to stop and visit if you want Mexican food. They even do brunch on the weekends.
