Our local family has hot dog place Also served burgers, Italian beef sandwiches (real good), 12 types of chicken breast sandwiches and typical sides. Very friendly staff. Eating is usually very good, although occasional frits are overlooked. I really like their hot dogs, with a variety of 8 different species. View all feedback.
Who doesn’t move a good hotdog, keyword on Good! Chicagoland is a great hotdog spot in Mesa serving up some of the classics. If your hungry, get the Ditka...you won’t regret it. The burgers and sides are tasty too and the staff is friendly and efficient.
We opted to try a Chicago-style hot dog, an Italian beef sandwich, and the house fries on the owner’s recommendation. The hot dogs come in regular and jumbo sizes. Neither is exceptionally large, but the jumbo costs just one dollar more. The Chicago-style dog was fantastic, loaded with all the classic toppings, including celery salt, sport peppers, and poppy seeds. On the other hand, the Italian beef sandwich was simply marinated beef with a slice of cheese on a bun. It was quite dry and definitely needed some sort of dipping sauce. Despite its good flavor, neither my wife nor I could finish the sandwich and agreed that we would stick to hot dogs during our next visit. The fries were your typical frozen variety, cooked in a fryer – decent, but nothing to write home about. If the combos included a drink at the same price, I would feel more inclined to make this a regular stop. As it stands, Chicagoland is definitely a place I’ll return for the great hot dogs, though perhaps less frequently than I’d like due to the current prices. If you’re in the area and craving a hot dog, give Chicagoland a try!
Went today, got the fire dog, which is a spicy Polish sausage. Got everything on it too. The sausage is mildly spicy, but definitely has a kick to it, but nothing over powering. Got a couple of small jalapenos with it, mustard, relish, etc. Really tasty. There's some seating outside, which was great (inside seating is allowed, but I'd rather not do that), plus seating outside on a 70F day is just awesome. Too bad I live in California because I'd go get a hot every week otherwise.
I really like the food here. It's quick, the girls are friendly when serving and everything I've tried I'd eat again. Healthy? Nope. Tasty!
For an actual Chicagoan craving a Hot Italian Beef, Chicago Dog with the works, a beef Sausage with Giardinera this is the place to go. We've tried dogs at different places around the Phoenix metro area and haven't found any authentic Chicago dogs like here. They use the poppy seed Coney roll, the celery salt and the traditional works including the bright green relish! Don't forget the sides! Generous portions of fries, fried zucchini sticks, mushrooms, onion rings and more!
