Amazing experience! Everything was cured, cocktails, appetizers, main courses and even desserts. No court was bad. The front of the house manager was also super beautiful, very knowledgeable with their cocktail program and explains all dishes very well. Great atmosphere too. Will definitely come back! Can't wait to visit the outdoor terrace when the weather is nice again in Mesa, Arizona. View all feedback.
What Valentin Becker doesn't like about Board Batten:
The shrimp was very good! But was upset to find out after I drove all the way there the only food menu is the happy hour menu between 3 and 5, which has only 5 choices. Might try again for full menu if I notice the crab cakes are back because that is the reason I went. View all feedback.
The place is very unique, great selections of drinks and wines. The service is great and overall a great experience for the Arizona winter weather to have some wine and enjoy good company. The reason of the 4 stars is the expectation of the food. For 50 dlls a plate I was expecting a little more. The fish I selected was too salty and the steak my wife got had good flavor but the French fries as a side was not the best side. Basically you can get better food for the price in a different place
We were drawn to this restaurant by its dog-friendly terrace and its high rating on Google. The upscale atmosphere is spot on, and it's a unique, hidden gem! The terrace is lovely, featuring comfortable couches. We only sampled the appetizers during social hour, but all three were delicious, with the meatballs being particularly outstanding. The olive plate, priced at over $12, was also delightful. We enjoyed the Bourbon special cocktail as well.
My friend and I dined at Board and Bat last night, and we were genuinely impressed. The decor is contemporary and bright, and the dining room is cozy, accommodating only 205 guests. If I were here with my husband looking for a more romantic setting, I would opt for the terrace seats by the fire pits, surrounded by lights and trees. For appetizers, we tried a special dish that I can't remember the name of, but it was absolutely delicious—a deep-fried mushroom risotto ball served with marinara sauce and shaved cheese. My friend ordered the 8-ounce C.A.B. Pepper Steak for her main course, while I had the Sonoran Pasta Co. Rigatoni Amatriciana. Both dishes were beautifully presented and incredibly tasty! The steak was incredibly tender, and the pasta was cooked to perfection—just the right amount of al dente. We were thoroughly impressed with our meals overall! To finish off, we shared a Salted Caramel Bar for dessert. It was unique and flavorful, striking a perfect balance between salty and sweet—yum! I did feel that the prices were a bit on the high side when I compared the atmosphere and service to similar restaurants, but overall, I enjoyed the experience and would definitely return to Board and Bat.
The restaurant is conveniently located in a commercial area, avoiding the hustle and bustle of San Tan Village in downtown Gilbert. I recommend making a reservation and opting to dine outside. It was pleasantly cool that evening, and they had light heating above our table, along with a heated terrace room, which was quite lovely. For appetizers, we had the Fresh Mozzarella, which was excellent. My spouse enjoyed the Ricotta Carmelle for their entrée, while I had the Grilled Pacific Swordfish, both of which were delicious. We capped off our meal with the Hot Chocolate Budino for dessert, which was also outstanding. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant!
Seasonal Menu Alert Board and Batten was amazing from start to finish. My fiancé, her parents, and I dined here last and we were greeted with very kind and menu knowledgeable staff. I had the Penicillin named drink which had a enjoyable balance of Ginger and Scotch. Next, we had a beautifully made House Focaccia the came with a fig mostarda. As an entree, I had the seasonally off menu Australian Wagyu with gnocchi and spinach. The wagyu was cooked to perfection with a medium rare direction to the chef. You can tell that the gnocchi was freshly made. Lastly, we shared an almond cake where the almond was not overpowering and complimented by strawberries and lime with cream. Overall the experience was great and I highly recommend anyone to come.
