Hitch N Post Restaurant - Merritt

This restaurant is a great spot for a late night meal when all the other restaurants are closed. They serve unique dishes, many of which are prepared in a Flemish style.

Used to be my go to place for breakfast. Really great food. Then doug switched the bacon from some really good thick sliced bacon that was meaty and very good to some of that fatty paper thin chemical smoked garbage. I cant go back. It is not even acceptable to serve that **** if your cooler broke down and ruined all your food and all you could get on short notice was that ****. Just tell me you have no bacon. If its the cost charge me more and keep the edible bacon. Sreve me **** i wont come back

This is my favorite breakfast place. Nothing fancy. Just quality home cooked food. Made fresh and served up quickly. Its a short drive outside merritt but well worth it.

I have gone this place to have business lunches, business dinners, fundraisers, and just to eat for personal reasons for years. Its a place that you can talk shop, talk about life, and have a great time. Doug is the owner and he is very down to earth and can customize your meal if your want it to be adjusted or what have you. I highly recommend taking the 10 minute drive out of merritt east on Hwy 8 to find this hidden gem. It is very country and down right worth it to have a steak here. I have dragged people who swear the steak here is the best they have seen.
