Wow, this place is a gem! The food was incredible—truly the best breakfast I've had in a long time. Val, the owner, was incredibly friendly and generous. The atmosphere has a perfect small-town charm, and the decor is beautifully done and family-friendly. There's even a cozy library loft for kids, making it a fun place to eat. If I ever find myself back in this area for breakfast, I would go out of my way to ensure we could dine here again. We tried the Zimtrolle, which was amazing, and we also enjoyed eggs and French toast—everything was exceptionally delicious. Thank you!
I really enjoyed this restaurant! The decor is stunning, and the atmosphere is welcoming. I had a fantastic meal, and the staff were very friendly. I ordered the Minnesota cube, which came with wild rice—delicious and full of flavor—and four pieces of toast. Everything was absolutely delightful!
As for the Minnesota scramble, while it was enjoyable to a meat lover like me, the wild rice provided a nice textural contrast. However, I found the dish to be quite rich and oily, likely due to the cheese and scrambled eggs included. There was quite a bit of oil left on the plate, suggesting that the chef was a bit generous with the cooking oil. The spicy flavor in the scramble was quite prominent, overshadowing the other tastes, with only the wild rice making an occasional appearance amidst the stronger flavors. In comparison, the wild rice cranberry toast with butter fell flat. It was tasty, but it didn’t have the punch needed to elevate my breakfast experience. I think a more subdued flavor profile would have made it more satisfying. The prices seemed a bit high for a diner located off the beaten path, even considering the imaginative menu and friendly staff. Nevertheless, Valerie Ann's will definitely remain on my radar for a return visit, as I didn’t get to try a cinnamon roll on my first trip, which I’ve heard great things about.
Let me tell them about frau valeri ann. we missed the deadline for christmas and not only the number of plates we needed, they had sides and cumbling. she saved christmas breakfast and dinner! we drove through the snowstorm, and they are all so warm and friendly. I felt loved and cared for; this place is super special. they will love to eat that they receive as it is made with love. the cinnamon rolls are the best! Many thanks that they can offer us and them more than it works! happy christmas! until 2021!
