Don Cheques Taqueria - Meridian

Ordered to go food. For a beef burrito, shrimp fajitas, and queso our food was over $40. Which I don’t normally mind but the shrimp are 41/50 shrimp. The smallest and cheapest shrimp you can buy. The queso was $5 and it came in a 2 oz to go ramekin. Same for the salsa which we were also charged for. It has good flavor, but what you’re paying for it was laughable, I never write reviews, but it just seemed ridiculous to me.

My husband and I came in for lunch the other day because I was desperately craving a torta de milanesa. I 'm pregnant and it 's all I could think about. While it 's not an option on their menu, I noticed they do have milanesa so I asked to have a torta with milanesa. They happily accommodated my request (after some brief clarification that I actually wanted a sandwich lol) and IT WAS DELICIOUS. First of all, this was hands down the best milanesa de pollo that I have EVER had and I try it at almost every Mexican restaurant. Second, I don 't know what magic bread they used but it was nicely toasted and just perfect. Add in lots of Mayo, lettuce, fresh avocado, and some of the house habanero hot sauce and I was in heaven. Also, the portion was huge. I was able to take half the sandwich home and have it for dinner. The only downside is that instead of satisfying the craving, it 's ALL I can think about! I even leaned over to my husband in church today and whispered, "I can 't focus because I cannot stop thinking about that torta. "Thanks y 'all for accommodating me. I will definitely be back to order the same thing very soon!

Food was really good and good portions. Service kept up with us and checked back frequently. Would definitely go back again to try something else off the menu.

I loved this restaurant and the family that owns it, however, I will not be going back. I advise any and every customer who continues to go there to add up your total before the menu’s are taken because THEY WILL OVER CHARGE YOU EVEN IF YOU ARE A GENEROUS TIPPER.

Great food. All times I have went, was only for the tacos, and ever single time I liked them. Not sure about the other foods, but they would also be good to in my assumption. Hopefully I try other foods and I may update this.
