I really enjoy it here have known about this place for a while now. One of my favorite things are all the daily specials, i look forward to sitting outside, and passing the time with a good meal. Haven't had the donuts yet looking forward to trying them, they do sell it quickly fyi. View all feedback.
What Lillian C doesn't like about Hops Pie/berkeley Donuts:
I have been going out of my way to get these donuts for the past few years. Yesterday will be my last time. We ordered cookies and cream, salted caramel, Boston crème and p nut butter chocolate ... the cookies and cream lacked favor and no sense of its name It's texture had lots of resistance as did all of them. Caramel salt overwhelmingly salty no caramel detected. P-nut butter choc gets an okay however I've had it... View all feedback.
I was about to give up and declare that the city of Denver does not have any good apple cider donuts. Something in the universe convinced me to try one more time and led me to Berkeley Donuts. I stopped by on a Friday morning and the shop was hopping, filled with people ready to get their donut fix. I was on a mission to get a cider donut, but choosing the second flavor had me stumped everything looked amazing. I ultimately went with the coffee cake donut. One bite into the cider donut and my quest finally all seemed worth it! Flavorful cake donut interior surrounded by a perfectly crisp cinnamon sugar exterior...just what I've been looking for to satisfy my east coast cider donut craving. I also really enjoyed the coffee cake donut. It was pretty butter y, but not overwhelmingly so, and that crumb topping...just YUM! I consider $7 for two donuts to be a bit steep, but worth it for special occasions! Berkeley Donuts does offer specials for larger quantities, as well as day of the week specials. A lot of options for people with dietary restrictions as well!
Solid donuts. More expensive than the average donut shop, but that's because they are higher quality. Are they the best I've ever had? No, but I've been lucky enough to try some amazing donuts. They're well done, and in the three weeks I've been in the area, I've gotten them three times, so that says something. Also, Yelp says they close at noon, but as they're located inside Hops Pie, you can still buy them after that as long as they aren't sold out.
Really delicious, well crafted donuts. Good mix of classic flavors as well as some really quirky yet wonderful combinations as well. I will say it would be great to be able to get a latte there.

Caramel salt overwhelmingly salty no caramel detected. P-nut butter choc gets an okay however I've had it before and it was delicious NOT this time boston crème in the past so light...so richly flavorful...such a balance between the the delicate dough and its filling. This time a big blah last time I bought their donuts there was a hint of something being not right. Yesterday it was 100%. A the good side staff was great
