What Justin Howard doesn't like about Abyssinia Ethiopian Restaurant And Bar:
I have eaten here before and the food was good even if the service was slow. This last time was egregiously bad though. We waited for over twenty mintues without them taking our order, despite us trying to get their attention. Eventually we just left. It was incredibly rude. View all feedback.
Food was so great. Spices were awesome and the veggies and meet were fresh. The service was very slow and the woman helping us was so angry every time we asked for something, even a napkin. We waited for our check for almost an hour from when we asked for it. The large group at the table next to us actually arrived, ate, paid, and left in the time we were there. While we waited, the woman was going outside, talking on her phone, helping other tables, etc. We probably asked her for the check 4 times, at least. Then, the check was wrong and we were overcharged. At first, the woman actually refused to correct it, despite us showing her the prices on the menu. Finally, she corrected it and gave us our check so we could leave. So despite having a good meal, the poor service left us not feeling great when we left.
First time having Ethiopian and it was amazing! I could probably eat 20 of their sambusas and the lamb in my dish was so tender. My husband is a spice fiend and he said his dish was the perfect balance of spiciness and flavor. My kids were unimpressed with the offerings but that's on us to broaden their culinary horizons better. Anyway. Staff was very kind to us, I was out of my element so their hospitality was much appreciated. Food was filling and so tasty and I definitely see us returning in the future. Thanks!!
Best Ethiopian around! I drive from Berthoud to Denver just to eat here, it’s worth it. The gluten free injera is awesome too!
I have a busy life and want to eat healthy. Abyssinia is my go to Ethiopian food. Always fresh and delivered quickly. If there are any discrepancies they fix it on the spot. The injera is Teff and you never feel that stuffed feeling, yes I can say it is medicine for the body spirit and soul?Vegetarian options: Ethiopian food is 80% vegetarian. It is savory and fresh. Any veggie cooked, from 3 kinds of lentils to chick pee to cabbage and potato to amazing spinach and garlic . Nothing like it
Food wise, the meal I ate here was amazing. This was my first Abyssinia dining experience. I would revisit the restaurant to explore their many menu offering. Ambiance wise, the atmosphere was calming and tranquil. Our server was appropriate. However, since the food is eaten with our hands, a bit of attention in the bathroom would be suggested. Washing up before the meal was not a pleasant or tranquil experience.
