My wife and I stayed at La Crisalide in Meride in early June. We received a very friendly welcome from our hosts, Erica and Wolfgang. The apartment was well equipped, the bathroom and the mattresses They were actually very good! The breakfast was varied, there was everything you could wish for, and it was extremely tasty. We also had dinner twice at La Crisalide. It was always excellent! Also worth highlighting is the very good price-performance ratio for accommodation and food, which is unparalleled in Switzerland. Thank you for the lovely stay!

A beautiful place to have a relaxed holiday. Erika and Wolfgang are warm hosts and leave nothing to be desired. We were provided with very valuable excursion and hiking tips at the daily breakfast (which consisted of regional specialties). Erika's 3-course menu is highly recommended. The place is very pretty and cute. There are various dining options here as well as a small swimming pool on the campsite.

Overpriced compared to alternatives in the region. The apartment was reasonably clean, but the equipment and furniture are old and could do with an upgrade. The breakfast was alright, except we were given the same loaf of bread for 3 days in a row (it was homemade), which is a bit cheap for 15 EUR p.p. per day. The owner was over-present and passive-aggressively 'suggesting ' activities for us to do. The homemade dinner for 40 EUR p.p. was sub-par and overpriced for what we were served (some cheese and ham, risotto without any meat or sides and a pudding, which was ok). We were even charged separately for the coffee, which wasn 't told us clearly in advance (at breakfast we would just get this included). The dinner was served in the same halogen-lit room as the breakfast, no effort was made to create a nice ambience. Again the owner was constantly there, not really allowing us to enjoy a private meal (sitting next to us, working at his PC, as the room doubles as his office). If you are offered the dinner option, better politely decline. The baby-bed which was offered for free when we booked also suddenly needed to be paid for in the end. All in all it seemed the owner was trying to squeeze out some extra money rather than being a nice and polite host.
