This is our personal favorite pizza. wood fired, all made individually, one at a time. If coming with another couple, we usually order a margarita immediately, upon sitting down to split. Then place our individual orders. This is a small, throwback operation, so patience is...required. And, Raphaello is a character, but, that is his perogrative. Think the Soup N@z$ on Seinfeld. What User doesn't like about Rafaello's Pizza:
Good go to pizza place in central Merida. We have had a lot of not so good pizza around town and can recommend this place for something quick and easy. On our visit we called in just after opening and were the first to-go order...for the evening. I wouldn't bother with the Caprese salad though. Very average View all feedback.
I love it here. great price. great pizza. great dessert. he's a Merida-Halte. I'm in the run of a year here 3-4.
I was skeptical about finding good pizza in Merída. I was totally proven wrong by the great pies they serve at Rafaello's. Pizza is obviously very popular among the Meridans as there are several wood burning oven establishments in the city. Rafaellos makes delicious pizza...with Neapolitan style crust (think nice char, not too thick). We shared a great arugula salad and had the serene mozzarella and arugula pizza, but added Serrano ham. We loved all. Decent wine to boot. If you're tired of Yucatan food, you can't go wrong here.
Promised not to return to Rafaello's but I did. Service is so much better and the pizza is still excellent. My daughter never stopped returning and noted that the restaurant has a low turnover rate. This says something good about management or tips.
The pizza was really good and the tiramisu fabulous but they really need to improve their service. Staff took our order and brought us our food and ignored everything before and after. We had to go to the cash because we got tired of waiting...for our bill and they couldn’t figure out what table we were at. It’s a shame to have such poorly trained staff ruin what would otherwise be a great experience.

We live in Merida and have been customers for years, so we have no problem with him, but he is an acquired taste, but the pizza is incredible. Even among the locals, there are varied opinions of the attitude at times. But, the service has always been good, he runs a tight ship in regards to his staff. The best
