What Gary D dislikes about P.f. Chang's Altabrisa:
we have eaten there three times and it is no longer on the list of restaurants i will eat at, my first two times food was average but there was a problem with lots of flies in restaurant and it has no access to outside so this should not happen, the last visit they fixed the fly problem but all three dishes were so salty it was not pleasant to eat, if they keep on this path they will close soon View all feedback.

As one of the first customers to come through the door when they opened here, and as a regular diner both here and at other PF Chang's in the US, i think i have a handle on what goes on here. i just stumbled across the recent reviews while looking elsewhere and i was frankly surprised at some of the negativity. When someone goes out of their way to file multiple, very negative reviews, you really have to wonder what the agenda is and who got them so worked up. if they couldn't stand the cooking why come back again and again? PF Chang's is a very successful, franchise Oriental Bistro. they have quite a selection of very interesting dishes which in my experience almost always come out well. now, if you're going to order wonton soup and spring rolls, or sweet and sour pork, why bother to go out, you can pick them up at Costco and you can have a boring pseudo oriental meal. some of my favorite dishes here: orange peel beef, double pan-fried noodles, kung pao chicken, chicken lettuce wraps and dynamite shrimp as appetizers, mongolian beef, crispy honey chicken or shrimp, and there's lots more. it's not perfect…just last week i sent back an order of crispy shrimp that was over cooked, and it was cheerfully and immediately replaced. but i have found the food to be true to their concept and very well prepared and presented almost all the time. the service is good but as at most places in Merida, you notice a turnover and servers without too much training. when they are very busy, as on weekends, sometimes you have to attract attention to get the staff back over to you. i don't think i've ever had anyone there who wasn't trying, and ready to remedy anything that wasn't right. is PF Chang's one of the these world class gourmet spots with exotic and unique dishes all around? not really, but it's a reliable place for very good Asian Bistro cooking with a wide variety of dishes.

We decided to give Changs another try hoping with a little more experience , all had improved. We were wrong. Changs just keeps going down. From the start, I found the hostess totally lacking in personality. But it could be just because she preferred chatting with other staff rather than helping the customer. Service was totally lacking. For anything we needed, we had to first locate the waiter and then convince him to come to our table. The wonton soup was really the highlight of the meal. My companion found her entree almost inedible because it was so heavy on the salt. And the meat was so overcooked that it was mushy. Our spring rolls were average and really OK. The normal condiments provided on the table were missing and we were never able to obtain those. When finished, it took us at least 10 minutes to locate our waiter--or any waiter. Then, almost 15 minutes for the change. As we were paying, my companion asked why no fortune cookies. Not certain the word he used to describe the problem with the cookies in Spanish but my companion said it translated as soggy. Good enough for me. We passed on the fortune cookies. A very disappointing experience. Doubt we will return.

Over the years, Chinese restaurants have come and gone. Several were actually quite good but could not survive the fluid eatery scene in this fickle city. The fast food Chinese pop-ups remain and seem to thrive on local bus traffic, but we have determined that there is not a better sit-down Chinese food option in Merida. P.F. Chang's can fall back on its international presence and reputation, but most importantly, it has consistently delivered for us. Our experiences have ranged from the smaller lunches and dinners out to several much larger Chinese New Year banquets. The staff and management has always been exceptional. The food was normally spot on, but since we sometimes will ask for special food preparations, the occasional minor flavor misstep is understandable. Although a bit pricey, one gets what one pays for!

We ate dinner here while in Merida. It is in the back of the Alta Brisa Mall and was a bit hard to find (the mall has a lack of directories). The inside eating area was freezing cold the outside was warm but preferable. We had two appetizers and both were good. We split one entree (Singapor style rice noodle) and it was so/so. The service was good. The prices were a bit high but the quality was, basically, OK. Not sure we would eat here again. Merida has a great selection of restaurans in the city.

Consistently good menu items and great service. We shared plates with names, chicken locks, pad Thai and Mongolian beef. Very good.

The best place for Asian food. The waiters are so polite and the food was warm and tasty... The manager is very attentive with the guests and they do care for you while you visit... I would totally recommend this place for work meetings and reunions.

Very good Chinese food...better quality as mall kiosks. Great menu, even sushi.
