Lago, a restaurant in the Common Man group, has been a long-time player in the New Hampshire restaurant scene. However, it appears to be struggling on several fronts now. Despite its beautiful waterfront setting in Meredith, our dinner experience was disappointing. We had hoped to celebrate with friends, but Lago's service and food fell short, making what should have been a great evening less enjoyable.

Fourth of July Weekend the patio looking over the lake was closed…. Very disappointing with such a great view, empty patio going to waste. Photos of the empty patio and the view.

Lago's is our favorite restaurant in Meredith. But there was some confusion last evening with our Chicken Marsala. The sauce that was served on top of the chicken was the same sauce our daughter had on her Beef Ribs. We didn't want to make a fuss since it was my husband's birthday celebration. We ate some then had it boxed.

We stopped by to have dinner at Lago. The tuna tartar was really good. Big chunk of tuna and fresh. Good flavor. I am not sure if the tuna tartar sauce was soy or teriyaki. I think it might be teriyaki sauce. If it was, it really needed to be soy sauce. The bolegnese pasta is a recommend. The noodles cooked perfectly. Plenty of meat and the suace and cheese were perfect. The salmon dish was the other one my wife ordered. The salmon cooked perfectly and smokey. The chili sauce was too overpowering. If the chili sauce wasn't there, it would be perfect as is because the avocado yogurt drizzle compliments the salmon and other ingredients. Our sever was very attentive and friendly. I would definitely return again. Priced were reasonably. Food came fast.

My wife and I decided spontaneously to go to the Lago on our one night in New Hampshire this year. What a great decision it was! The food was amazing, the drinks were almost too tasty, the staff were friendly and relaxed, while the view of the lake and the beautiful interior of the restaurant capped a perfect night for us. The shock came when we took a look at our bill. We had drinks, salads and entrees...for less than 80$!!!!! We were convinced there must have been items missing from our bill. Well, there weren't. So an easy 5/5 rating and one of the best bang for the buck ratios we ever had.
