The chicken is simple, and the fries taste like they were just taken out of the freezer. If you're craving a chicken breast meal, I would recommend this place over St. Hubert. The chicken is tender and juicy.
It's disappointing to see that in recent months, there have been more negative reviews than positive. We order from Benny&co. regularly since we live nearby and my husband has celiac disease, which limits where he can eat. However, we've noticed several issues lately: 1. I always have to call in to confirm that I want rice instead of fries and no bread. I tried ordering online once and left a comment requesting no bread, but they still included it on the chicken. My husband cannot eat bread due to his celiac condition. When I called to complain, the manager showed no empathy and admitted they don’t even check the comment section. Calling in takes longer than ordering online, but since they ignore special instructions online, I have no choice. 2. Sometimes the staff answering the phone are rude. I understand being short-staffed, but there’s no excuse for being disrespectful, especially when I’m polite. 3. When I call to raise a complaint, sometimes they say the manager is too busy to speak and will call me back the next day, but they never do. This has happened multiple times. 4. There are frequent mistakes with orders, like forgetting to substitute fries for rice. This has improved somewhat recently because they added a note to my file after I complained repeatedly. Still, last night I ordered a salad with ranch dressing but received balsamic vinegar instead, even though the receipt clearly shows the correct order. When Benny&co. first opened, they were on top of their game. The food is good, and since we don’t have many options nearby, we’ll keep ordering for now. But the service has definitely declined, and customers should be aware that errors are more common than not. One final note: it’s disappointing that the fries are cooked alongside gluten-containing items. Please don’t advertise them as gluten-free on your website.
At Benny&co., the chicken, wings, poutine, salads, and drinks are all absolutely delicious! The menu offers great variety, and the prices are reasonable—truly worth every cent!
