This place is amazing. The bread was so warm and fresh out of the oven. The pistachio crusted roast rack of lamb was so flavorful and tender. The pan seared diver sea scallops were perfectly cooked and delicious. The char-grilled filet of beef was also so tender and yummy. The vanilla bean brûlée was perfectly sweet. Darla, our server, was very attentive and very friendly. The property is historic, quaint, and beauti... View all feedback.
What MrsPsPicks doesn't like about Byron's Dining Room At The Mercersburg Inn:
Dinner: scallops were excellent; filet was over-done; soup, salad, and rolls were adequate; too cold in the Sun room Live guitar music was terrific! Breakfast: fruit was delicious and ripe; coffee cake was fair; quiches and coffee were good, sausage was not. Same small staff seems to be juggling the restaurant and inn and it just didn’t pull together as anything really special for us, which was a bit disappointing. View all feedback.
Wonderful dinner tonight! Beautiful house and grounds, friendly staff, very good food. Best dining experience we have had since moving to PA!
My husband and I were married October 6th at this beautiful Inn. We purchased the Elaborate Elopement Package. Tomi and Darla were beyond wonderful! They stayed in close contact, answered within 1 business day and everything went smoothly. I had ordered different colored flowers and had a particular cake I wanted. The flowers and cake were perfect! Tomi helped me get ready and Darla was kind enough to pin my husbands boutonniere. We booked Dressing Room #2. The room was gorgeous. We had a balcony where we ate our breakfast, had our Proper Tea (highly recommend), dinner and just to sit and relax. We ordered the Krimpets for our arrival and they were perfect!!! The only thing we did not care for was the shower, which was very tiny. The bed was cozy and comfortable and the AC worked very well! The Inn does sit along a major roadway so traffic did keep me up a bit, mostly tractor trailers. The Inn is gorgeous and the staff is beyond great! We plan to come back on our 1st year anniversary.Thank you Tomi and Darla for everythimg!!!!

We had the lamb shank (rack of lamb wasn't available) and deep sea scallops that were both excellent. The escargot was very good and had a puff pastry. Had to send back the pork dumplings appetizer because it came with only three dumplings instead of six.. The silk chocolate dessert was very tasty.
The chef did an excellent creation on our food and the service was attentive, too.
