My husband, myself, and our son were looking for something new to try while visiting Chicago. We really miss the food scene there. We decided to check out J. Hicks after noticing the large number of cars parked out front. We were seated right away and quickly served our drinks. If Service is not that important then this is the place for you! Not sure how the food is. Been waiting 45 minutes and still nothing. But in their defense there was 4 tables. View all feedback.
This place is a jewel! Great atmosphere with a variety of craft beer on tap. And the live acoustic entertainment that works just adds to your overall experience.
This is a regular go to place whenever I am in Mercer (which is fairly often). I 'm particularly fond of the fried clam strips there. Jumbo strips! Just a nice, friendly, cozy place to dine in a very pleasant community.
Band, Brew, or Beef, J Hicks has it all! Jim Hicks has done a fantastic job of re-juvenating this old place and returning it to the glory it deserves. Classy place, classy people, and great bands! Come early, have dinner, then drink some great craft beer and listen to some classic music from the areas most versatile musicians and bands!
Fantastic food, possibly the best selection of craft beer this side of the Mason Dixon, and live music from the area's best bands! What else is there??
We enjoy going to J Hicks on the Square – Service is wonderful and the food is very good. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area wanting to try something new
