We especially like sitting outside on a warm, sunny day, enjo... read more We’ve eaten at this restaurant as well as at the adjoining Schnuggebock many times over the years. We especially like sitting outside on a warm, sunny day, enjoying the impressive view of the nearby Säntis mountain range. It’s a steep road to the restaurant which you can either drive or walk to, or ride up on a bike. There is plenty of free parking on the premises.Children will love the small petting zoo and well-equipped playground. The food is generally traditional eastern Swiss, which makes this a perfect place to take visitors. There are also half-portions available (you have to ask, however), so if your appetite isn’t that big, or you want to save room for a yummy dessert, consider this.If you go when the weather is nice and especially on the weekends, it might be hard to get a table right away, and the service can be rushed or delayed.After your meal, stroll through the restaurant to the back where you can often see a mother pig and her babies, the nostalgic Schnuggebock restaurant, the old schoolroom (available to rent for a group), rooms fitted out like in old times, and a small bakery selling lovely treats from the area.
