Stopped for coffee and cake. This place seemed to have decent selection of patisseries which had otherwise been a bit lacking in Menton. Tables plain and not much atmosphere but the cakes are good! View all feedback.
What Franklylouise doesn't like about Patisserie Laloue:
Waiting for the lemon festival to open so stopped for tea. €10 for two cups of tea . The older woman who served us was so rude, when we asked for milk she huffed and puffed and came back with the smallest jug of milk. Avoid at all costs! View all feedback.
Had walked past their location several times over the last two days and this morning we stopped for breakfast. The selection of patisseries and lunch items, to go out take out. The selection was just enough to take a few minutes to choose. I had an apple tart and cafe latte, my wife and omelette natural and cafe latte both taste and well priced. The owner came out and thank us for coming by, a very personable individual. Stop by when in Menton you’ll be happy you did…J
Superb breakfast of ham omelette runny as only the French know how. Good croque monsieur and coffee too. Many other menu options also looked tempting. Reasonable €28.60.
We stopped off for some coffees in the afternoon and decided to come back later for some food. The owner was really accommodating and cooked us mussels even although it was a bit later in the evening. Top marks for the service and food we had. Mussels were great and cakes and pastries where sublime!! We were so full! We travelled from Scotland and the owner chatted to us for a bit and offered us chocolate too. I also noticed him giving a homeless person a box of food. Very decent and kind! Thanks for such a nice memory of Menton- We will be back for sure
First, my experience is limited to a single meal and I perhaps should have known better than to choose this place for crepes with my family, but they do promote themselves as being a creperie. It is a nice spot and good location, and inside is charming. But when it came down to it, we had a terrible round of crepes that were not prepared properly (likely rewarmed in a microwave), and the service was OK at best. There are many better choices in town for sure!
We went to have breakfast to celebrate our wedding. My wife had their love flagship pastry that is a supersized raspberry macaron with fresh raspberries, very pretty with a gold leaf on the top. We both took coffee they know how to make and I had a fresh chocolate bread, just out of the oven, wonderful. we sat on the outside terrace and were served by the owner. As we had to visit friends, we picked up a package of their guimauves, we chose between them and drink fruit, panetone, chocolate and a range of good products marked lalou chin, nice to report outside the city. this coffee is really the best in the city for those who love pastries. They also serve lunch.
