Sweet Orchid - Menlo Park

I had a great experience at this gelato shop! The ice cream was absolutely delicious. Even though there was a long line, the service was quick. You pick your gelato flavor inside and you'll have it in seconds!

On Halloween, my spouse and I decided to find some ice cream. He mentioned that there was a Safeway on El Camino with an ice cream shop before reaching the shopping center. When we arrived at this small ice cream shop, it just felt like a delightful place. We looked at the ice cream and sorbet, and the colors were not artificial, which we appreciated. I was intrigued and decided to get a large cone with three scoops. I chose cilantro lime and orange sorbet. The cone wasn't packed tightly, but I managed to keep it together by licking it. It was delicious. My spouse chose to get two scoops in a cup. I loved the ice cream and would recommend this charming little spot. Another thing I appreciated was that the girl who helped us was very sweet and humble. I felt compelled to give her a 20% tip as she was a college student trying to earn money.

I tried the quadruple chocolate cake in search of a new favorite after my go-to bakery closed. My expectations were high for this dessert. The ganache was amazing - creamy and light. However, I found the cake to be dry.

Prices are a little on the expensive side for the product offered. It is worth trying, but I feel that the price to product ratio could be better.

The gelato was so-so, definitely homemade but was not very rich at all. But it was the service that I found extremely sterile and it actually made me feel uncomfortable. Will not be returning.
