if they have the opportunity to go to pan y oliva, please do one please and go. the place is amazing, with view of the olive tree and they have a small organic garden. Eating was also really delicious. but that's expensive. View all feedback.
If you have the possibility to go to Pan y Oliva, please do yourself a favour and go. The place is amazing, with views to olive tree and they have a little organic garden. Food was really tasty also. Expensive though.
If you’re in the area visiting wineries the Zuccardi Family winery is the one to visit—if only so you can eat lunch at Pan Oliva afterwards. The stunningly beautiful setting of the restaurant hidden deep in their vineyards is by itself worth the visit. Add delicious, fresh food bursting with flavor and top-notch wine from the same estate and you have a winning combination. I visited with a tour, so my lunch was a pre set deal that included starter, main, dessert, and a wine pairing for every course. However, one can also just go in and order a la carte. None of the menu items are specifically vegan, but the staff is well informed and can easily adapt menu dishes to be vegan friendly. The meal begins with a spread of homemade breads (plain sourdough, rye, beet bread, and a crunchy seen cracker), white beans in a tasty chimichurry type sauce, and olives. They serve you the first wine (your pick of their whites) at this point. Then you can pick between two vegan starters. I opted for a bruschetta which had an abundant layer of a delicious white bean spread topped with asparagus, artichoke hearts, and peas. It was absolutely delicious! Next, for main you can choose between a pasta (marinara or primavera) or a salad (three different varieties). You get your red wine at this point. I opted for a salad that had beets, kale, olives, endives, walnuts, and cherry tomatoes with a slightly sweet dressing. It was one of the best salads I’ve had in a while. The kale and tomatoes were slightly cooked and the dressing was delicious. The mix of colors, textures, and flavors made it a complex and exciting dish despite appearing simple at first sight. Finally, for dessert you can choose between fruit salad or an assortment of homemade sorbets. A very enjoyable sweet, dessert wine accompanied this course. I opted for the sorbets. You get three scoops of a shaved-ice type sorbet that resembles a granita. The flavors are orange, grapefruit, and Malbec. They come over a crumbled cookie layer with some slices of fresh orange and grapefruit on the side. Again, it was absolutely delicious. Refreshing and natural—you could tell they were made recently and from fresh fruit. All of this while eating on a lovely shaded patio looking out at a garden fountain and a storybook vineyard setting. I cannot recommend this place more. It was one of the loveliest meals I’ve ever had.
