The restaurant was a great find among the hundreds that exist in Mendoza .
Oregano was recommended by our hotel as a dinner spot, and unlike some of the other recommendations on our list, a reservation was not needed. We were able to walk right in and grab a seat close to the open kitchen and brick oven.We shared a bottle of malbec, and a burrata and prosciutto appetizer that was pretty good. I spied a plate of really nice looking oven dried tomatoes and asked the waiter what dish they were served with; his response that they were a side for the meat entrees influenced my choice of lamb. Unfortunately, the tomatoes were not part of the side. The lamb itself was good, although not exceptionally memorable. Perhaps ironically given my disappointment at no tomatoes on the side, I really liked the sweet potato that came with the lamb. Its skin had been almost caramelized in the oven and it was served with a citrusy hollandaise sauce. It seems like Oregano's thing is really pizza (hence the big brick oven). Most of the other patrons were having pizzas. Oregano's was all right. I probably wouldn't revisit given the many places in Mendoza to try, but it was a solid meal and they seem like a good choice for groups, since they were serving at least one large party.
This was a very nice place to eat. Food was very good there and the wait staff did a good job of taking care of our needs. Try it , you will like it .
Food was excellent, is great to make your pizza and the service was excellent. The clay oven is the best part of the kitchen. We will be back
We were referred to Oregano by our hotel manager. It was a great experience. So much so that we returned for a second dinner. The tomato avocado salad was superb! We tried the salmon which was amazing both times. As well as the sirloin steak sandwich. My husband loved the chicken on our first visit but it wasn't on the menu the second time. Perhaps they change it up a bit. Staff was attentive and spoke English. And the menu was in English as well. They have a nice wine selection and some good craft beer. And, very importantly, the bathrooms are super nice and clean.
