We were plea... read more Since our favorite Greek restaurant was unfortunately already fully booked, we spontaneously decided to try Restaurant Athen with a group of eight. We were pleasantly surprised to find a table at such short notice. The food was rather expensive for what it was priced, but the portions were generous enough to fill us up. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. Our waitress seemed noticeably grumpy, which was apparent to everyone at the table. Her demeanor created a distinctly unpleasant atmosphere whenever she was near us. The appetizer was disappointing. The sauerkraut was practically tasteless; the children left it untouched, and we adults only ate it half-heartedly out of hunger. It was anything but enjoyable; a salad would definitely have been a better choice. Overall, the visit was not a positive experience. Compared to our usual Greek restaurant, Athen felt more like an overpriced fast-food joint. We won't be returning.

The coleslaw was tasteless, the souvlaki was overcooked and burnt with no seasoning, the tzatziki was tasteless, and the gyros was the only thing that tasted good to all six of us. What we did like was the atmosphere.
