The smell of roast meat and beer stalls hangs in the air a bit, but in a good way – it kind of makes you hungry. As for the food: hearty, honest, and hot. The portions aren 't for gourmets on a diet, but if you come with an appetite, you 'll be full and satisfied. My chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside – exactly how you want it. The potato salad wasn 't your run-of-the-mill supermarket fare, but nicely sour, with a bit of onion, and well-seasoned. Not fancy, but just right. The waiter was a real character – a bit gruff in his tone, but friendly in his heart. If you can handle that, you 'll quickly feel like a regular. Drinks came quickly, and when refilling, he even asked of his own accord if a Maß (literally, may I have another Maß? A brief moment, but you can tell: The people working here aren 't just doing this on the side. Criticism? Yeah... if you 're looking for something: The menu is quite classic. If you 're looking for vegan experiments or Asian bowls, you 've come to the wrong place. And parking is sometimes a bit of a hit and miss – but hey, it 's Römerstraße.
