I stumbled upon Le Pascalouon onTripAdvisor and worked our visit around the fact that the restaurant was open only for lunch. It was the dining experience of our week in France. Located on a side street in the heart of town, it would be easy to pass by. Small even by French standards, with a kitchen that that seemed tiny by American standards (think apartment size), the chef creates delightful, mouthwatering dishes. The vegetable lasagna was outstanding and his crème brulee, which we had tried at every restaurant visited, was the best by far. The prices are reasonable and the visit to the table by the chef at the conclusion of our meal made this a most memorable experience. I realize that most of the reviews are in French so I am writing this review for any Americans who will be visiting the Melun area -- DO NOT MISS Le Pascalou.
