Afternoon Tea At Stapleford Park

I was treated to afternoon tea by some friends and was excited to visit this restaurant as I had tried their tea many years ago. However, like other reviewers, I encountered delays, a shortage of staff, and low-quality sandwiches that were cold, thick, and dry. I'm grateful I wasn't paying, as I would have definitely complained. The hotel is located in a beautiful area but struggles with occupancy, leading to maintenance issues and the use of plug-in heaters instead of central heating. It's disappointing that the golf course no longer exists as well.

The sandwiches, measuring 3 x 1 inch, were small and mediocre. The scone was the smallest and blandest I have ever had. The miniature cakes were also not enjoyable. At a cost of £46 per person, which included a cup of tea and a glass of prosecco, I found it to be outrageously high. This was definitely a rip off.

Gorgeous pastries! The best chocolate and cherry cheesecake and the scones were divine. Lovely selection of tea. Sandwiches were ordinary just fine.

Came here for my birthday and was not disappointed! Beautiful hotel and grounds, and afternoon tea was simply wonderful, the food was amazing and almost too pretty to eat! Very friendly staff too, felt very spoilt! Will definitely come again.

Very nice and plenty of choice, staff were very friendly and attentive. Looked lovely with Christmas decorations up.
