After a long day on the boat Meldrum Bay Inn was a welcome relief. Sharilyn was warm and welcoming. We had reservations and were seated immediately. We ordered the trout dip and onion rings as well as the trout linguine. Because it was almost 8pm we shared the plates and it was more than enough. Paired with a lovely white wine it was a sweet ending to a blustery day. Don't miss. View all feedback.
What Elly Ulrich doesn't like about Meldrum Bay Inn Restaurant:
The restaurant only accepts reservations and does not have walk-in availability, which was disappointing to discover. We arrived by boat and unfortunately cannot come back. This is the only restaurant in the city. We looked at the menu and it is on the pricier side, but the view is beautiful. View all feedback.
Stayed at the Inn for 2 nights with my daughter. We loved everything about the place. Rooms are decent size, bed was comfortable and clean. 2 beautifully renovated upstairs bathrooms to share for guests were a little busy in the morning. Other than that no complaints at all. Owners made everything possible to ensure comfortable stay for us. We had dinner at the Inn restaurant one evening. Portions were huge and quality of food was excellent. Presentation 5 star! Food was a bit pricey.Thank you to owners, we will definitely be back one day
We had dinner here, and breakfast. Good food served with love. Delightful to have hummingbirds visiting the flowers and feeders on the balcony. We'd go back anytime - fall colours spectacular I believe.
Very amazing food! Large portions, great service. Enjoyed 2 nights at the inn as well. Highly recommend the trout almondine and Cesar salad.
This restaurant marks the end of the road on the western tip of Manitoulin Island and the 100 km drive from the centre is well worth it if the weather is good. Go early; dinner runs from 5 to 8 pm. My wife and I sat outside and marvelled over the amazing view of boats and quays and sea and blue sky. We both had the fresh lake trout, which she like daughter more than I did, and an excellent key lime tart for dessert. The service is lightning fast: we had our main courses less than 15 minutes after we ordered and had paid up within 50 minutes.
We spent two nights here last week and were totally awed by it. From the moment you walk up the front steps and through the front door and the bell rings you know you are in for a treat. Our room facing the bay was tastefully decorated and the linens were top notch. The white fluffy towels were plentiful in both the room and the washrooms. The dining room and wrap around porch were perfect for watching the sailboats come and go as well as the hummingbirds. The best part however is the owners and the staff...Sharin & Bob are excellent hosts. Welcoming all into what is their home and you feel that. Their attention to detail extends into the dining experience. I have never tasted trout the way they do it and the cheesecake was to die for! Our visit was to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday by going to a place we hadn't been but this is definately a place we will return to!
