Zio's Ristorante - Melbourne

The closed sign is on the door, the posted menu is from the date, the phone is separated, they do not take bookings on the line, and there was no one inside when I visited on a Saturday or evening meal on a Friday at the afternoon.

We visited zios on Saturday 29 september for an open table confirmed dinner booking by 18 o'clock to find the restaurant closed and the telephone number of the telephone connection separated. no communication about the closure. not happy!

In the middle of the week as a couple. in a quiet night the place was still a warm and stylish ambiente. the menu of the seafood tasting was a joyful with the heavy fish in prosciutto the highlight packed. service excellent!

Here on a groupon voucher. the eating was pleasant, chocolate sufflé was the best, although the staff was polite and friendly, they held wrong meals on false tables, rather bizarre for such a tiny restaurant in considering that it was only 12 people in it.

Having eaten at this place a number of times, but quite a few years ago, this visit was very, very disappointing. Clearly has different ownership from it's heyday. Not my choice to dine here but we were part of a group of 10 dining here...and it was a last minute choice of venue. Food is overpriced for the standard, and service hit and miss. Can't not mention the substandard toilet conditions too. Floor clearly had not been cleaned in who knows how long and the paper towel bin definately not emptied from I guess the day before. Poor form!!
