We came to this part of town for the shopping but decided we didn't want to eat in the DFO food court so wandered outside, eventually heading across the river to the Wharf hotel. From outside it looked empty but once inside they had an elevated section of booths that was almost full. The menu was not super extensive but broad enough to allow for various dietary intolerances. I had the chicken parmigiana which was qui... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Wharf Hotel Dining:
The meal we had was just awful. The fish being the worst part of it with absolutely no taste and a mushy texture. The chips seemed to be supermarket frozen crinkle cut chips and the salad was pretty much just lettuce and onion. At a glance the menu looked ok and the prices are quite reasonable but when it came to choosing something that wasn't burger or pizza it didn't leave much choice. And there seems to be a lot o... This area of Melbourne is soulless. We were looking forward to a Melbourne experience, but apart from the friendly staff member directing us into the igloo, we were shocked with the plastic surroundings, and plastic flowers inside the steel frame igloo. Fairy lights doesn’t do it at midday, unfortunately. We had a view of a rubbish bin outside, and power points in our site line and confirmation that we were going to be dining in the igloo which does not have a view. Didn’t eat much of the food. We couldn’t believe what we had done. Food was delivered in a lovely manner, but was a 3/10. We looked at a plastic dome left, right and centre. It was difficult not to get up and walk out. We would have been better going to a restaurant outdoors across the river. I simply don’t know what people think they are getting out of this experience. It does have a big screen in the hotel for watching sports.
Great service well looked after. Great meals where staff look after you. Drinks are appropriately priced and great range
Nice pub with beautiful scene on the Yarra. Popped in for a cool beverage and catch some test cricket. Friendly service. Impressive dining area. Back soon with others.
Have been wanting to try the igloo experience for sometime so maybe had unrealistic expectations. There was a strong smell of damp/mould on entering the igloo. The food was the biggest disappointment and the staff were unreceptive to negative feedback. Would not recommend unfortunately.
We were ignored and rushed at this restaurant. The apologies were insincere and lacked substance. We spent $300 only to be disappointed. We had to ask four times before finally receiving our second drink, which arrived five minutes after we were supposed to leave. We were then told to leave within 10 minutes. I would not recommend wasting your money or time at this establishment again.
