Went here for a private function. The waiting staff were friendly and hardworking. Venue upstairs was lovely. The music was a bit too loud for the event but that might have been a private DJ, not sure.It was pretty empty downstairs early on, 1/3 full later in the evening. Nice if you'd like to dance with friends without being bumped or pushed every few minutes. View all feedback.

Having visited the Stone Hotel mid-week for a 'counter meal' on two separate occasions, the venue is a relaxed environment with a modern fit-out, complete with televised sport, decent beer and wine list, compact beer garden and a standard pub menu of burgers, chicken parma etc. Service is friendly. We went looking for a place to eat and came across this place. It was actually holding a band showcase for weddings etc but we were welcomed anyway (there was four of us). The food was amazing, the band even better and the staff friendly. What more could you ask for.
Only on Monday, steak is only $16. The taste was fantastic and the atmosphere of the restaurant was also great.

Food was amazing. Staff fantastic. Well presented venue, & had a DJ on the night we went. Had an absolute ball. Would go again :)
I like the Stone Hotel. It has a vibe that other venues in Brunswick Street don't have. Best location in the street, easy to tell your friends where it is and the chef/cook does some regular changes to the menu that create interesting food combinations. I'm a regular staples sort of guy so this doesn't appeal to me but my friends who are more adventurous like it. Common with most Fitzroy establishments, this is not the place for six or eight drinks - more like one or two. The prices will hit your hip pocket.
