This is a popular, busy and historical watering place in a quiet lane just off Collins Street. It buzzes with activity when people knock off from work and remains alive for a few hours after that. Staff are invariably courteous and well-informed. View all feedback.
Nestled in the city's buildings is a charming pub. It consists of several small rooms that create a cozy atmosphere. The service is satisfactory, and although we didn't try the food, I believe the menu is quite good. Having been to many English pubs before, this one definitely captured that feel. On a cold winter day, it was truly enjoyable to have a couple of beers there.
Still my favorite steak place service and food quality is the best in one of the oldest pubs in Melbourne. Good wine selection, great food and the best service. Highly recommend this place for ladies days, business lunches and dinners... simply the best!
I had lunch in the steakhouse with my son. Steaks were excellent, service was great and not too bad price wise. Sure it’s on the pricey side, but you get stunning meat and service
As usual, we love this place food is divine, service is the best and as always a wonderful experience. Try the Porter house steak, Rib eye, lamb Shank curry, Vienna schnitzel (my personal fav) and greens done delightfully, with the perfect wine! A big thank you to Daniel who always makes us feel welcome.
Cooking a steak to the point of well-done is often considered a challenge for chefs, but it seems like they have it down at this restaurant. I ordered a well-done steak and it was cooked perfectly to my liking. Kudos to the chef! I will definitely be returning.
