Tassal Salmon Shop - Melbourne

Better restaurants for fish can be found elsewhere. But a good place to shop for salmon to bring home and do your own cooking

A little eatery next to the Tassel shop for a quick lunch or early dinner. I had a grilled salmon (of course) and it was cooked to perfection. Service was so so and you cant expect too much.

It is 8:45am, walk in the salmon shop...One gentleman is on his mobile completely ignores me. 5 mins pass he is still talking and I'm waiting at counter to be served. He walks over to lock the entrance door, still talking with no acknowledgment that I exist. A rear chef notices me and asks a service girl to come over and serve me. It is now 8:55am, instead of getting my 3 pieces of salmon, she tells me she will not serve me until 9am b'c that's when they officially open. The door was open for service when I walked in! Personally if you want to make money best to serve a customer. It takes 1 minute to get 3 pieces of salmon out of the display fridge, wrap it and take my money. Your service is hilarious So I stand and wait for the clock to strike 9am while they watch we wait and just stand there talking between themselves.

I am addicted to the salmon eggs benedict at the salmon shop - it is one of my favourite local places for breakfast. Hands down the freshest smoked salmon you can find in Melbourne. The service is always excellent as well - Omar always looks after us. After breakfast wander through the shop as see what goodies you can pick up for later.

We went as a couple to try out this restaurant having been passed it several times. We enjoyed th food and the range of assorted goodies available to purchase from the produce section.
