This place is a hidden gem in Melbourne CBD, just 2min to Parliament and walking distance to all the city's Theatres (perfect for pre/post show) Great staff and definitely best pizza I've had so far! View all feedback.
What Andrea Virág doesn't like about SPQR Pizzeria:
Melbourne CBD really needs to have a good wood fried pizza. When I heard about this new-ish joint, I was looking forward to some good pizza. My favourite pizza is the traditional Napoletana pizza but unfortunately, they don't have this on the menu. We ordered Amatrice and Parma. Amatrice was covered in sour puree and some pieces of aged/dried meat and Parma was a bit better.Amatrice: 2/5Parma: 3/5Tiramisu: 5/5Mula It... View all feedback.
Highly recommend it, had pizza from many gourmet places in my time but never had an experience quite like this one, absolutely beautiful and 100% will be
Delightful puffy crust on the edge / outside of the pizzaDelicately thin (almost dangerously so!!) in the centre.
I'm all for modern, trendy and innovative. But this place isn't any of these. It's what I'd describe as a 'try hard'. Inflated prices, unnecessarily obscure topping choices, poorly prepared and with very ordinary service to boot. Firstly the good, the venue is OK even if pizza in the top end of Chinatown is slightly odd. I ordered takeaway and a beer while I waited. $34, for a small pizza and a basic beer! At this point I'm thinking, the pizza had better be good. The pizza was ready in literally 5-minutes, and even though it's wood fired that included the time to order, make and cook. It wasn't cooked properly, was very, very oily and had scant toppings and little taste. Terrible. The young person that served me, may well have been on their first shift (i hope so for their sake) but didn't have much idea at all. With so many great Asian restaurants in this area, I'm not sure what I was thinking - next time I'll simply that the walk to Lygon St for real pizza.
Cenamos en este sitio por recomendación y no falló. La pizza estaba buenísima y el servicio amable y divertido! Para repetir!
We stumbled by this awesome place... totally booked but they accommodated us at this great community table. Very cool place. The awesome small menu makes it easy to decide. The pizza was delicious as well as the salads and antipasto ...All the boys that helped us were super nice....
