**** fantastic - we were the only people there on a Saturday lunchtime. Get with it people! The food was absolutely delicious - we had only entrees though: Mac’n’cheese balls, grilled cornbread, chicken tenders and wings. Yum, served really hot and there was heaps for two of us for lunch. Service was brilliant and quite a nicely decorated place. We really enjoyed it and would certainly go back again.
What User doesn't like about Smokey's All American BBQ:
Good little place with pretty standard BBQ food. Watch out for the spicy hot dog, it's insane. There are better BBQ food places around in Melbourne but as far as a chain goes it isn't too bad! View all feedback.
Good place for an impromptu American BBQ style and themed dinner with fast service. The food (whether it's the ribs, Reuben sandwich, Brisket sandwich-with Jack Daniels or southern comfort sauce are all delicious. Grab an Australian craft beer or go for a delicious milkshake and you are set! Good food offering and compared to other American BBQ places in Melbourne, the overall value this restaurant offers is worth checking out (it's a low/medium price American BBQ Have tried to go to Port Melbourne four times now and each time they have been closed or closing (inside of their advertised trading hours , so cannot comment on this site's offering/experience had. We dined on a Saturday night and had booked a table for 8. Whilst the food and drink we DID have was great, it was the disappointing lack of stuff that annoyed me. They had no icecream which meant no icecream desserts and no milkshakes. They ran out of Sprite after we 'd had 3 bottles. They ran out of bottles of coors after I 'd had 4. They were missing at least 3 mains including the beef rib...which is what we really wanted! It became a bit of a joke can we get......or have you run out of that too? I can never understand that, maybe the mains, but icecream and Sprite is available in any cash and carry or supermarket....and there is a supermarket about 2 minutes walk away! We had a nice meal, but it wasn 't anywhere near as good as it should have been.
Over priced bland food the words smokey and bbq conjures up ribs smothered in delicious sauce doesn 't it ? Not if you order from his place . Bland . Meh . Port Melbourne is loaded with great places to eat . Just keep walking past this place , even if heir service is lovely the food not so .
We had been there a few times before and we're impressed. Then we went tonight it was as dead as a door nail which is strange for a Saturday night. I had the beef brisket which didn't look or taste like brisket. It had sinew was dry and didn't taste like it was slow cooked NOT GOING BACK they're cutting cost by using cheap cuts of meat the sauce on the brisket was sweet and sickly
We were after a good hearty meat dish. I ordered the pork belly...it was quite bland fortunately the sides accompanied the pork belly beautifully. My friends ordered ribs to share unfortunately the portion size was more an entree size so it was lucky the gals ordered burgers too. The dessert brownie was awesome. Overall we were fed the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was very southern. Sadly meal portions were disappointing.
