I was very surprised.. the flavours where there , but the consistency of lamb was a bit off , the odd very chewy bit of Lamb.The service very good and about $80 for 3 courses and 3 wines so not bad.. I'll be back View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Singh's Bala Da Dhaba:
Really disappointing. Bland, tasteless. Calamari pakora (rings) looked like they came straight out of a bag and tasted synthetic. Both butter chicken and korma very bland, tasteless, and chicken had consistency as if boiled. Had to add salt and pepper to create any flavour. Will not be ordering again. View all feedback.
Hard to find good indian restaurants which offer great food and service. We are now visiting this restaurant with friends.
We went to Singhs Bala da Dhaba only to find it had changed hands since we went last. We were very surprised that the food was as good as the previous owners. It wasn't very busy, and we were surprised as the food is good and reasonably priced.
We have now visited Singh's Bala Da Dhaba restaurant on three or four occasions on recent visits to Melbourne. On each occasion we have ordered one of the set menus which provide several delicious starters followed by a number of curries, served with a selection of nan bread and excellent rice. The food is extremely well priced and represents excellent value. The restaurant is BYO as well as licensed, which makes for a very reasonable night out. Service is friendly and efficient. Make sure you are hungry if you are going to order the set menu - there is a lot of food and we are big eaters. Delicious and satisfying!
When you walk through he door, and you are made to feel very welcome.After they have met you a number of times, you almost become family.The food is authentic and very, very tasty. I personally don't like too spicy foods, and they are only too wiling to oblige. They become children, and make an extra effort with their food.
The flavours are fresh, the meat is tender and the service friendly. Highly recommend this favourite. Naan bread is also good and big!
