We walked in on a Thursday evening with no booking and they seated our party of 5 adults straight away. The restaurant was quite empty. They were also accommodating to our 7 month old son who was sleeping in his pram. The menu was good and they also had a good drinks menu. The flavours of the curries was terrific! The only complaint was they provided only one small bowl of rice for 5 adults (and 5 curries), and we had... View all feedback.
What Ashton Pollich doesn't like about Shiraaz Fine Indian Cuizine:
Very good restaurant if you like rubbish curry. It was up there with one of the biggest disappointments of my life. The popadoms were a disgrace as was the service. About as polite as Victoria Beckham. We’d have been better off buying an uncle bens...sauce from the supermarket and mixing it with mud. The chicken tikka was the best thing about the whole experience but they should have microwaved it for a bit longer. T... View all feedback.
Fantastic flavours and fine dining. Shiraaz has a lot to offer. We were a little surprised by the large portion sizes and ended up overordering. Not a problem, we took the excess in take away containers and gave them to some homeless people. The flavours were distinct and outstanding. Each dish was freshly made, and both meat and vegetarian meals were a delight to the palate. Food and drink is reasonably priced. Definitely a restaurant to go back to.
A friend and I dropped into this restaurant for lunch on a Friday. It was a short tram ride away from work and located in William Street just off Collins Street. He said he dined in this restaurant many years ago and recalled that the food was good. He also has a shopper docket which meant the second meal was 1/2 price. This was an added incentive to attend. There was a great selection of Thali's available. I choose the $16 two curry thali which included a chicken and lamb curry, raiti and two naan breads. They were happy to swap the rice for an extra naan.Restaurant had lovely ambiance with quite upmarket décor.Price was a few dollars more than our local Docklands Indian restaurants for the same meal. I did ask for my meal to be very spicy, however I was very disappointed that I could not taste any spice at all. This did result in a lower rating for the restaurant.
Visited Shiraaz on a Saturday night, it was quiet. Just outside the CBD. Complimentary papadums upon seating. Amazing menu and reasonable prices. We got ginger lamb cutlets, 1 curry, lemon rice and 2 naan all for under $50. Big servings. The food was delicious and came out in just under 20 minutes. Really friendly staff and beautiful atmosphere inside.

Reasonably priced and standard portion sizes. Would visit again when we're in Melbourne.
I was part of a group luncheon at Shiraaz in William Street, Melbourne, yesterday and I so enjoyed the food. I have a severe allergy to onion and garlic and I phoned the restaurant the day before and they went out of their way to create the most beautiful meal for me and did not make me feel different to anyone else in the group or that it was an imposition. The service is very considerate and the food really is great.
