I'm a regular to this spot they have the best dumplings I've tried in Melbourne. I always get the pan fried and they are delicious, the staff are friendly. Sometimes there is a wait but so worth it !! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Shanghai Master Dumpling:
Worst dumplings I have had ever and can't understand the popularity. Don't start me on our treatment as we arrived very early to beat the rush, were the only ones there and were given the worst table in the house with extremely low kiddie stools. I explained I had arthritic hips but our pleas that we would be quick were totally ignored by the extremely rude owner/manager. We only stayed as we knew it was popular and... View all feedback.
Only one staff member who received patrons, cooked and cleaned up. Thankfully not busy, but there was a bit of a wait for food. Food was good, but we paid a bit more than we expected given the really minimal service.
Had lunch together with work colleagues/friends. We must have ordered about 8 lots and Shanghai fried noodles between the 7 of us. We rolled up early at 12 pm sharp as the place filled up pretty fast. One of our vegan friends had vegetarian wanton noodle soup and she was very happy. All of us walked way very satisfied with our meals. Would highly recommend if you are in the city.
What a really nice place to go. I was impressed with my crispy chicken and rice. Sounds silly but you get what you order crispy chicken and rice that’s what you get. As for the dumplings coming from a small town in Queensland I have never had dumplings like this before and was quite impressed.
The place is very casual and not fancy at all,it's a kind of self-service and table are not always very clean, but the food is just so good that I fall in love with the place! Portions are very big, very tasty and cheap (specially if you think about the location) tea is free and you can have as much as you want. Excellent!!
This place has yummy dumplings and not too overcrowded which means no waiting in a long line like those shops in Chinatown
