Simple looking dishes but beautifully handmade noodles by the owners. We had Mie sapi, Mie Ayam mentega and pangsit goreng. Mie sapi has tender meat while the Ayam dish was slightly harder for kids as it's slightly fried. The wonton skin seems to be homemade too and it was very light, tasty and crunchy. We want to try their nasi goreng kambing and other noodles next time. View all feedback.
What Chang Lin doesn't like about Pondok Bamboe Koening Clayton:
We ordered take away from this restaurant for the first time due to its high rating. But is extremely disappointed. Easily the worst food weve had in years. It was oily, stale, and too sweet. I am not sure how its getting such high rating.. pretty sure most of the meat we had were frozen for weeks and reheated we all threw up after eating our dinner.. View all feedback.
They do not have many option on the menu, as they specialised in Indonesian noodle. But the homemade noodle is pretty good. Central location in Clayton.

Bought 3 dishes during lockdown. Overall they all are very delicious! I love love their bihun goreng (fried rice noodles), it totally reminds me of how they do it back home, so delicious and very close to what they do in Bakmi GM back home! So impressed! Their mie pak cham kee is very nice too, very rich with the oil. Wished there were more veggies though. Lastly, their ayam goreng mentega is quite nice too. I was expecting chicken pieces with bones but this one is more chicken fillets, that is fine too. Delicious as well although for $18 dish, portion is really small for this dish (only enough to be eaten for 2 people). So overall food quality is amazing, but i have to say it’s more on the pricier side.
For $18-$19 per dish, I got such small portion that's worth more like $12 at other Asian restaurants. The dishes are super oily -a thick layer on top that's like 5mm in height and we had scoop it out. Disgusting in terms of taste and oiliness and portion. Will not visit again.
Our never go wrong diner for take away and regular dine in. Place is rather small, but always have space. Best not to go in large group. Friendly service, quick cook, yummy food. Have tried various menu, generally all yummy. Pangsit goreng, mie goreng, and nasi goreng always be the all time favourite for us.
