North Ivanhoe Fish & Chips - Melbourne

An old style but very good fish and chip shop based on our experience tonight. The chips were absolutely delicious like as good as you can possibly do and you get a good many for a pretty modest price. The steamed dimmies were delicious as well. Service was good, moderately friendly and efficient. We’ll be back for sure.

Overcooked flake, chips, dim sim and potato cakes. All too crispy and batter very dark brown. Very greasy potato cakes, with oil oozing out of hard batter once it was bitten into. Usually ok here but perhaps can’t handle busy nights. Our order took 40 minutes.

Great quality food the best in this part of town. The hamburgers are delicious and the grilled fish was perfect.

A Greek TAXI Driver told me about this place, said it was the best Fish Chip Shop in Melbourne. It 's been there for over 30 years.....BEAUTIFUL ! He said GO TRY IT NO DISAPPOINT YOU So I did and he was right! You walk in and you are instantly struck by the cleanliness of the place, immaculate you could eat your fish off the floor it was that pristine. The Greek owner takes pride in everything he does, still after 30 years he cooks with passion love. All fresh produce, as the potato cakes sign says 'cut fresh everyday '. It was so delightful to experience everything this wonderful place has to offer, you instantly know its going to be spectacular. Old fashioned cooking, with transitional ethics, still producing what they do best in present times. BRAVO I have live in the area for 5 years and have only discovered this OASIS, YEP its now my local CHIPPY WOO WOO!!!!!!
